What's in a name

A fellow blogger (Glenn from To Simplify) told me that the name for a new rig will present itself & you just have to be ready & paying attention to see it. He was absolutely right & it happened for me today. As much as I feel the name Gypsy was a great fit for my first rig, I think this one is just as good a fit for the new one. Thanks to those who made suggestions & I did consider each and every one of them. I also seriously considered Gypsy II.

I liked many names that have meanings about freedom, new beginnings, or wandering in general. This name is so simple yet will instantly convey its meaning to anyone who has not been living under a rock recently. Innocent, yet elegant, simple, yet deep in meaning.

So what is it? What did I choose? Not telling yet. Stay tuned.

  3. Actually, while Heidi is here, I have to give her credit for the bit about a rig suggesting its name at the right time. She taught me this a few months ago when we first met, and I'm just passing it along...

  5. Interesting thought. We ordered our Lazy Daze, and knew it wouldn't be ready for about 4 months. During the wait, we always referred to the rig as Serenity (from the spaceship on the TV series Firefly). We went with that till we actually got the rig, and it never seemed quite right. I tend to pick names based on how much I like the sound of the word. One day I saw a bottle of Cholula hot sauce, and the word sounded just right. Ever since the rig has been named Cholula Red (for the paint job).
